Terminating Lessons

As a courtesy I would appreciate at least two weeks notice in writing indicating your last day.   I reserve the right to dismiss a student if any of the following occur – failure to pay tuition in a timely fashion, persistent absences, uncooperative attitude or lack of progress due to insufficient practice or unfulfilled requirements.

Attendance

Please arrive punctually.  If you arrive early please wait outside or enter quietly so as not to disturb the students before you.  Please leave shoes at the door outside before entering the studio.  Please arrive with clean hands and clipped fingernails.

Simply Music Piano

Those students studying the Simply Music piano method are required to create an online account with Simply Music at http://simplymusicpiano.com/students/

Materials needed for your lessons are available on this site.  Access to materials costs $35 and provides everything you will need for your music lessons and has audio and video for you to review during the week.  New materials will be required every few months as students progress through the program.

Practice expectations

Just like learning a language, music requires practice.  Students will be expected to agree to and maintain a schedule of regular and consistent practice throughout the week.  Initially students will be asked to practice for 15-20 minutes per day 5-6 days a week.  It is essential that the commitment is from the teacher, parent and the child if the child to succeed in learning music.  The teacher provides the teaching and general guidance and the parent takes up the very important role of follow-up at home.
